Blog Post #4
I've learned a few things from this blog. Primarily i learned how to blog. I've never done a blog before so this is a great learning experience as well as, life experience also. I've always wondered what was the purpose of blogging or what was it like to have a blog. Now I can say I have my own. I like the fact that a blog is more like an open discussion. It's basically an email sent to a group but instead of sending it you just compose it and let others view it whenever they want. This blog has done a couple of things for me. It has added to my use of technology, lol, and it has also helped me improve my typing speed. However,it has also helped me to further express myself verbally about the work that I do, no matter the subject. I feel like an actual writer or scientist whenever I get on here and express to whoever may see my blogs the progression of my work and research. It puts me in the shoes of other actual writers or people's blogs that I may have read over the years and to know actually why they actually took the time to write blogs in the first place. This has helped aid to my writing process and topic of my paper as a whole. Expressing myself and my work on this blog has helped me realize things about my thought process and how it can be best fit for my work. For example, when telling about interesting things I've learned through the books that I have gotten about my topic and the feedback from Ms. Ingram about the posts that I have put up, they help me further explore different areas and fields about the topic. IT helped me to further realize that research just isn't about the things that you find from books or even interpersonal experiences or findings, but about valid information that you encounter while searching for your own. Basically, I'm saying that things told and experienced by other people that you can connect with may also be a form of research. Many people think that just because that have looked in a book and found facts and information bout something that their research is done. I have came to the conclusion that research is like a painting, it's never really done you just stop continuing with it whenever you want. I know for a fact that my research for my topic is nowhere near complete but it's adequate for the type and amount of work that I'm doing for it. I'm a very thoughtful and optimistic person. So blogging has also served as a personal journal for me during this research process. It almost kind of feels like I'm doing my logs for my senior project again.

continuation of post #3
I think she should just keep addressing the issue and lead furthermore into how fat food creates other problems. I also like how she shows the reality of her research by tell her moods and changes during the process.

Primarily, my target audience will be obeast children. However, they are my target audience simply because they are the part of the issue that I'm discussing. My overall audience will include the children, the parents, and those of interest about the matter. These three groups will all be apart of my audience because they all part of the problem and solution. For example, without the parents to teach nutritional habits the children would not know what or how to eat. Without the children's wondering minds give an opinion on what they should and shouldn't eat. Finally, the people interested in the problem will either begin to experiment with he problem in two ways: 1. test the results of certain foods and how they affect children or 2. begin to develop hypothesis about why the problem has emerged and be and be proactive about it. My understanding of the timeliness of my topic is very plain and clear. I say this because i have chosen a topic that still has top priority among other epidemics that are happening everyday across the world. I care about my topic because I like kids, this topic affects the future, and because in a way i can relate to it. At one point of time in my childhood years I was considered fat or overweight. Although, never reaching the obesity mark I still somewhat have a sense of what the issue of children and weight happens to be like firsthand. High school teachers, you could say, are there to stick the habit of developing and assessing ideas in our minds. College is the place where we take affirmative with the ideas that we create and try to make a difference with them. Yes, there are multiple viewpoints regarding the topic. Most of the view points pertain to the question of who to blame for the problem and why. Many say that it's the parents faults because they are the primary caretakers of children and they provide most of their nutrition, while many others may say that it's the school systems fault because they're slowly taking away things that are essential to children such as physical fitness and play. For the most part, the things that I have learned about my topic just add on to or elaborate the thoughts and things i have heard prior to researching. However, the thought that obesity is heavily dependent on the community of the child is a matter that sticks out to me. This matter sticks out to me because it's kind of an inevitable. That means that they're always going to be more healthy than unhealthy communities do to the status quo, poverty rate, and lack of resources. So, this could drive many to believe that that epidemic an never be stopped. Furthermore, it could further aid to the movement of making the world a better place. I personally like Aarika's topic. I like it first and foremost because she has made it known that she is passionate about it. There it a lot of good quality and efficient work put into something when your passionate about it

My most interesting source is a book source. It's called "Obesity ion Childhood and Adolescence" and it's by H.Dele Davies. I say this would be my most interesting source because of the material it hold. It doesn't just consist of facts and opinions. It has theories developed by other medical research and theories developed from research on society. I say I like this one the most as of right now because I haven't really gotten into any of my other sources due to the deep interest in this particular source. Some of the information that it has comes from not just one point of view. It has information that leads to situation in actual life today. Some of this information may include subjectivity levels in different classifications of people in the world, the different social, mental and educational, patterns that follow us and we pass down to our children throughout our lives and and how it affects their mental, physical, and emotional states, especially, when it comes to the topic of obesity and physical activity. It's fairly old since it was published in 1984 but the information in it can be considered very valid and essential to any form of research on this particular topic.

Eng blog #1
For my research paper I have chosen to follow up on
childhood obesity, particularly around elementary school children. For my paper
my inquiry question would be: should physical education be taken out of schools
completely?. I’ve settled on this question because the diversity of it and the
many different reasons behind why people would answer yes or no. Personally, I don’t
think it should. It interests me because the thoughts about physical activity
and children seem to contradict themselves. For instance, we are constantly
reminded everyday of how important physical activity and play is important for
children. These reasons may be physical, mental, emotional, or biological. So,
for the one of the things that we are reminded about when it comes to children
be taken out of one the places they spend the most time at just brings
questioning as well as, interest. My topic is timely because it’s still a
concern in society and schools today and affects the future of children now and
the children to come. I expect to find a lot of things that are hidden about
the topic. These things may include the secrets behind what’s in the food to
cause the problem and some of the hidden reasons to take such an important and
fun part of school and children’s lives out of their school day. Things that
push me more in the direction that I’m going to find out such things are the
book and article titles that some of my sources have and the information that I
have found in the readings, and there is still more to find out. Currently, I have
not personally come across any scholars whose opinions differentiate with mine
because I haven’t yet indulged in conversation with others about the topic.
However, I’ve heard in the news or in other anonymous conversation thoughts and
opinions that differentiate with mine. I have to further follow up on those
thoughts and opinions on a personal basis. I know how I feel about the subject
as of right now, however, I do know that through time and more research my
thought may be subject to change, but I don’t think they will due to my
personal experiences with physical education and activity in schools and how essential
it was to me. I would like to get to the bottom or as close as I can to the
cause of the issue of what sparked change in something that is basically
traditional in the school system and a disease that’s sweeping the nation
rapidly.
